Christmas Joy

Okay I think it's about time I updated our blog. We missed a thanksgiving post so I definitley have to do a Christmas post.
The boys had such a great Christmas, they were spoiled this year. It was a very good day for all of us. We got to spend it with our friends and family. The boys made little christmas lists for Santa, and I think they got just about everything on their list and then some. Malique's biggest Christmas wish was a dinosaur. They both wanted a little workbench they love to help mommy fix things around the house.

Mekhi got all the handy manny tools to go with the workbench, he loves them.

Of course everything had to be opened and set up right away. They couldn't even wait until everything was unwrapped.

Damon is such a thoughtful person, he put in extra hours at a part time job to make sure we could give the boys so much.Hope everyone had as wonderful a Christmas as we did.

Snow!!!

So this morning we woke up to a bunch of snow, our first snowfall this year. I guess I should be grateful that it skipped Halloween. But of course none at all would be nice too:) So the first thing we did was bundle the kids up and go out to play in it. Malique loved it of course, but Mekhi kept running over to the porch to get away from the falling snow. He kept saying he was soooo cold, so he didn't last long out there. (fine with me)

So it's the day after Halloween, we had so much fun. The kids now think that they can have candy for breakfast. The very first thing both of them asked for this morning when they woke up was their pumpkin pails. Boy, did we have a rough morning. Anyways, we went to trunk or treat and then decided to go around through the neighboorhood. Mekhi really got into it. Every house he yelled trick or treat and I made sure he knew to say thank you after a piece of candy was given to him. He also got a little to comfortable he felt like it was okay to just go on into some of the houses. We were in our friends neighboorhood and didn't really know people there, so that was not good. Malique had a blast we went with our next door neighboor. Their little boy and Malique have become fast friends. So I know they had a lot of fun together. Hope everyone had a good Halloween.

Can't wait for the halloween fun.

We are so ready for halloween friday, the boys a super excited. I love getting them all dressed up, and for one night letting them eat all the candy they want. Normally I would try to be controlling their candy intake, but at least for one night they can have what they want. The kids look so cute in their costumes we already went to a custume party and had them put on the gear. Damon got the boys a fun little race track that they have been playing with constantly. It was a bribe to get them to go with grandma and grandpa to church. Yes thats right I said we had to bribe them. Anyway hope everyone has a fun Halloween and that you all post lots if pics of your kids in their costumes.

Fall! A season for Change.

We had such a great weekend. Damon had a few days off and it was so nice to enjoy time together as a family. We spent our weekend doing fun outings and things but unfortunately didn't bring our camera along. I did take the opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful fall colors in our back yard. So here are some pics of the kids.

Daddy's Little Helper

This morning Damon decided to make a wonderful breakfast for everyone, and of
course Malique had to be involved in the process. He loves to help out with whatever
we need, such a good kid. This evening we were taking care of a friends daughter, and
Malique is the best babysitter ever. He kind of took charge of everything and
made sure that everyone had plenty to do. Mekhi on the other hand, well let's
just say that its a good thing he so cute. He's kind of a trouble maker and when
he's doing something he shouldn't, he makes this cute little face. It almost
makes you not want to get mad ( i did say almost). The boys love
to be outside and I love to be out there with them, riding bikes,
basketball, etc... Hopefully we will survive the winter.

Utah Mountains

We as a family have decided that we should embrace the mountains in Utah, so at least once a week we try to take the kids in the mountains. Here are a few pics from a few weeks ago we hiked to doughnut falls in Big Cottonwood canyon.

I THought I missed the East Coast ( People Yes, Driving NO)

OKAY HERE WE GO. I finally had a chance to go back home, or at least go back to the place where I grew up it was so strange to see family and friends that I had not seen in years. We had a fun time, except for the 487 miles we put on our rental car in four days. It was a great chance for Malique and Mekhi to see some of their cousins and great aunts and uncles they had never seen. NOt to mention my childhood best friend and his parents. We also got a chance to take the kids to see their Great grandparents grave site (my dad's parents). By the way Summer went too, but the humidity reaked havoc on her fresh new short as Shannon haircut so she doubly refused photo ops
